The Center for Chinese Bie-modern Studies (CCBMS) at Georgia Southwestern State University in collaboration with the Institute of Aesthetics and Aesthetic Education of Shanghai Normal University and the Center for Bie-modern Studies at the University of Primorska, will host an international symposium to be held between 1-3 October, 2020 in Americus Georgia, investigating the topic of The Challenge of Bie-modernism – Chinese and Western Dialogues on Art, Modernity, Truth, History and Space.
Deadline for abstract submission: 1 July, 2020.

Art: Premodern, Modern, Postmodern, Bie-modern
With the development of globalization and localization, the relationship between art and its historical context is receiving renewed attention from a field of scholars. The description of premodern, modern and postmodern art may not be satisfactory when describing the motivation and influences of some contemporary Chinese art that has been identified as “Bie-modern art” or a hybrid form of art developing from within Chinese Society.
The Center for Chinese Bie-modern Studies (CCBMS) of Georgia Southwestern State University, in collaboration with the Institute of Aesthetics and Aesthetic Education of Shanghai Normal University, will host an International Symposium in October 2017.
